Hisashi Yamamoto

Calligrapher/Artist

Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1969. Currently residing in Hiroshima Prefecture.

After working on the Inoue Yuichi Catalogue Raisonné from 1990, he held his first solo exhibition, "Machine," at Unac Salon in 2015. In 2016, his collection of works, "Fune" (YKG Publishing), was published. In 2024, his second collection of works, "Ugokuki" (ART DIVER), will be published. In the same year, he exhibited at Kiaf SEOUL through Yumiko Chiba Associates, and is currently active in this field.

Major exhibitions to date include "One-person Art" (Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, 2010), "Flying Saucer" (Yumiko Chiba Associates viewing room shinjuku, 2016), "Speech Balloon" (Gallery NOW, 2017), "Triple Tower" (TMMT, 2018), "Game" (Fukuya Hatchobori Main Store Art Gallery, 2022), "Naming The World" (Yumiko Chiba Associates, 2024), and "Kitagawa Kazunari, Yamamoto Takashi, Hino Kimihiko | Letters and Margins, tentative name" (Yumiko Chiba Associates, 2025).

The main collection is at the Taoyuan Museum of Art.
