Regarding participation in "ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2024" (Updated 9/10)

The contemporary art gallery "YUGEN Gallery" (Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo/operated by Gene Co., Ltd.) will be exhibiting at "ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA 2024" (AFAF2024), which will be held in Fukuoka from Friday, September 20th to Sunday, September 22nd, 2024.

"ART FAIR ASIA FUKUOKA" is Japan's only art fair with an Asian theme, and has been held in Fukuoka since 2015.
Last year, the fair recorded a record high of over 10,000 visitors, and the total transaction amount for the entire fair exceeded 300 million yen.
This year marks the ninth time the event has been held, and it will be held over four days at the Fukuoka International Center, a familiar venue for the Kyushu Grand Sumo Tournament.

At this art fair, YUGEN Gallery hopes to bring together contemporary artists who have exhibited and worked both domestically and internationally, as well as artists who advocate artistic expression originating from Japan, and introduce them to Fukuoka and Asia.

The participating artists are Nishimoto Yuki, Nagao Hiroshi, and Sakkarani Ai.

Nishimoto Yuki is a sumi-e artist who continues to attract attention from around the world. Not limited to traditional techniques, since 2017 he has been creating new works called "Toubokuga" (ceramic ink paintings) that combine sumi-e and ceramic techniques. With a unique touch that combines boldness and delicacy, he expresses a new world of sumi-e.

Hiroshi Nagao is a collage artist whose work focuses on the theme "We are the indigenous people of the future." Drawing traditional motifs and imaginary figures from around the world, he reflects on the relationship between traditional culture and materialism, and calls for learning from the past and returning to human instincts.

Ai Sakkarani is an artist who captures the various colors that pass through her body and incorporates them into abstract works, believing that "an artist and a work are the manifestation of life itself." With diverse roots in the UK and India, she throws colors onto the canvas as she feels them.

Each artist will be present during the art fair. The dates will be announced on the YUGEN Gallery official website. Tickets will also be available for purchase at the venue and online from the VIP day on the 19th.
