Yoko Ayukawa, an artist represented by the contemporary art gallery YUGEN Gallery (Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo/operated by Gene Co., Ltd.), will be holding a solo exhibition entitled "Nice to meet you, Alien-kun!" at the Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin store from August 29th (Friday) to 31st (Sunday) and September 3rd (Wednesday) to 30th (Tuesday), 2025.
The venue will be "gallery UG ART GALLERY × CALLCOFFEE," one of the largest art floors in Kyushu, which will open on the 5th floor of the East Building of Daimaru Fukuoka Tenjin. As a special opening event, a large-scale art event will be held over three days throughout the entire Daimaru building.
During the event, a wide variety of programs will be available, including talk shows, art exhibitions, live painting, and DJ sets, allowing visitors to experience art up close.
The solo exhibition "Nice to meet you, Alien-kun!" will be held at the same time in the art gallery on the 6th floor of the main building, and will feature the 6m-long masterpiece "Earth, Fire, Water, Wind," which was shown at "YUGEN Gallery FUKUOKA" in April, as well as his latest works, including the new work "Nice to meet you, Alien-kun!" You can fully enjoy Ayukawa's colorful and pop worldview.
Furthermore, from Tuesday, September 3rd to Monday, September 30th, 10 paintings will be exhibited in the Daimaru Wall Gallery, a connecting corridor between the Main Building and the East Building. Produced by JTL ART, this project is a noteworthy art event that promotes Fukuoka-born artists nationwide and around the world.
