Phalaenopsis

This work is part of "Creatures," a group exhibition by five artists who express animals, plants, fungi, and imaginary creatures using their unique materials and techniques. Through the diverse forms of "creatures" presented in this exhibition, viewers are invited to consider the invisible presence and energy of life, and the relationship between nature and humanity.
Yukiko Kurano depicts the vital movements of plants, which, though appearing still, are constantly spreading roots and extending branches and leaves. In her work for this exhibition, she uses oil paints like watercolors, capturing the dynamism of growing plants with fluid brushstrokes.
