Rooftop garden

This is an exhibited work from "Creatures," a group exhibition where five artists express animals, plants, fungi, and imaginary beings through their respective materials and methods. This exhibition focuses on the unseen presence and energy of life, and the relationship between nature and humanity, through the diverse forms of these "creatures."
Yukiko Kurano depicts the vital movements of plants, which, though seemingly still, are constantly putting down roots and extending their branches and leaves. For the works in this exhibition, she treats oil paints like watercolors, capturing the dynamic energy of growing plants with fluid brushstrokes.
