This is an exhibited work from "Beyond Words, Outside Meaning," a three-person exhibition exploring how we ordinarily understand and perceive the world, starting from words and letters. This exhibition re-examines the relationship between words and images through expressions that move between seeing and reading, form and meaning. Yoichiro Otani creates visual poetry using Kanji characters, finding new connections between their forms, sounds, and meanings. The Kanji accumulated on the screen, while symbols conveying meaning, transform into images evoking landscapes and the presence of nature, bringing forth a fluctuation that arises between seeing and reading.
