Kazumi Okamoto Kazumi Okamoto

Calligrapher and contemporary artist

Born in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture.

Graduated from the Department of Child Studies, Faculty of Home Economics, Japan Women's University, majoring in Child Psychology. Currently enrolled in the Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Arts and Letters, Kyoto University of the Arts.

He has received numerous awards, including the Art Creation Award for the Monaco-Japan Diplomatic Relations 10th Anniversary Project (2016). His major exhibitions to date include the "Interesting Calligraphy Exhibition/Special Exhibition: Thinking Calligraphy Exhibition" (Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, 2024), the "4th Tagawa Art Biennale: British Exhibition" (Tagawa Art Museum, 2024), and the solo exhibition "The Shape of Words Heared by Sound" (MDP GALLERY NAKAMEGURO, 2024).

The main collection is at the World Calligraphy Museum in Moscow.
