Motor Show (Vintage Chaos Series)

Hisashi Yamamoto

This work is featured in "Beyond Words, Outside Meaning," a three-person exhibition that explores how we understand and perceive the world, starting from words and letters. The exhibition re-examines the relationship between words and images through expressions that move between seeing and reading, form and meaning. Naoshi Yamamoto, based on calligraphy, engages in a conceptual practice of "writing the name of a thing on the thing itself." By superimposing an object and its name (words) in the same place, he creates a moment where "seeing" and "reading" intersect, questioning the mechanism of recognition through language.
