Cowshed
This work is an attempt to unearth layers of individual and inherited memories through the motif of a "cowshed." Using fragmented personal experiences and pre-war memories recounted by the artist's father as clues, the work imaginatively evokes a past not directly experienced. By giving form to memories that would otherwise be lost, it presents a personal yet universal way of being. Through the conceptual method of naming objects, this work re-examines the relationship between language and vision, and meaning and form.
