Moving Tree

This work is featured in the exhibition "Beyond Words, Outside Meaning," a three-person show that explores how we usually understand and perceive the world, starting from words and language. Through expressions that oscillate between seeing and reading, form and meaning, this exhibition re-examines the relationship between words and images. Yamamoro Hisashi, based on calligraphy, engages in the conceptual practice of "writing the name of a thing on the thing itself." By superimposing a thing and the characters that name it in the same place, he creates a moment where "seeing" and "reading" intersect, questioning the mechanism of recognition through words.
