[Ayumu Sugiyama] Announcement of artist name change

We are pleased to announce that artist "ruteN" will be changing her name to her real name, "Sugiyama Ayumi," and will continue her activities from February 3, 2025 (the beginning of spring).

Ayumu Sugiyama has released many works as "ruteN" and has received high praise at exhibitions both in Japan and abroad, but this decision marks an opportunity for him to take a further leap forward.

ruteN began his career as an artist in 2020 and quickly distinguished himself in art competitions. He began studying under the fourth head of the Ichiyo style of Ikebana, Takahiro Kasuya, in 2018, and obtained his certified professor's license in 2023. He says that the sense of deepening the relationship between plants and space-time in Ikebana is similar to painting, and his style of "painting as if arranging flowers" has captivated the hearts of many viewers.

When he first started working under the name "ruteN" about five years ago, he felt there was a difference between his creative self and his everyday self, and felt comfortable separating the two. However, through his experiences and continuing his work, he came to realize that both his creative and everyday life were a part of him, and he came to feel strongly that his creative work and his everyday self were inseparable, which led him to decide to work under his real name.

Our gallery will continue to support Ayumu Sugiyama's creative endeavors and strive to present even more fascinating works to everyone.

Even after changing my name to my real one, I plan to continue my activities as Ayumu Sugiyama. I look forward to your continued support and patronage.
