Masumi Iwakawa solo exhibition “BLOW”

Painter. Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1985.
She started playing the saxophone at the age of 16 and went on to music college but dropped out. She studied jazz under Suehisa Shimizu and began painting on her own while pursuing her musical career. In 2013, she traveled alone to New York, USA, where she held her first solo exhibition, "BIG BANG" IN THE EAR, in Manhattan. In 2017, she moved to Berlin, Germany. In 2019, she returned to Japan. She is still very active, performing live sessions with her husband, quena player Hikaru Iwakawa.
