tobari

Works exhibited at the group exhibition "KUROism - The world of tea ceremony as seen by contemporary artists."

This work uses columnar basalt, which is formed when lava hardens into regular pentagonal or hexagonal shapes called "joints."
We used this stone to express the fine-grained, wet-looking "black" that granite does not have.
The title of the work, "tobari," means that night blocks out the light and conceals the world.
