security#19
This artwork combines the "SECOM" stickers seen around town with an animation of smoke. "SECOM" is ubiquitous in daily life and provides a sense of security to people, almost functioning as a modern-day amulet. In contrast to security#18, this piece uses a small screen to convey this image, presenting the embedded sense of "safety" in everyday life in a more condensed form.
On the other hand, the work raises the question of whether "safety" can truly exist in an environment like Japan, which is constantly at risk of natural disasters. The piece depicts a situation where safety is compromised by a force too great for "SECOM" to handle.
