From Saturday, April 29, 2023 to Sunday, May 28, 2023, the solo exhibition "Harmonious", which was held at "YUGEN Gallery" in Shibuya, Tokyo in March 2023 and was well received, will be exhibited at Matsuzakaya Nagoya. It will be held simultaneously at the event space on the 6th floor of the store main building, and the European restaurant VIVI, which provides the added value of Nagoya's first "art x food".
Natsuko Echizen is an illustrator/artist who has been active in a wide range of fields, including character design for advertisements and TV animation, and displays for commercial facilities.
The solo exhibition "Harmonious", which was held in March 2023 in Tokyo for the first time in 10 years and was well received, will be held simultaneously at the European restaurant VIVI / Matsuzakaya Nagoya store. The theme of this exhibition is "Coexistence", which provides a glimpse into the future of her new artwork, which continues to make great strides. We hope for a relationship in which humans, animals, and plants all respect each other's individuality, and draw a "Harmonious" world that expresses a natural and peaceful connection. The view of the world where fantasy and reality, where living things are in harmony, stirs the memory of the past and the imagination of the future, creating a narrative for each viewer.
Echizen learned from traditional Japanese painting. The expressive and attractive characters, drawn using his experience in illustration and character design, knock out stereotypes.
The viewer's imagination is infinitely clear, and you will be immersed in reading myths and stories, and you will feel that common sense and stereotypes are loosened. Imagination or reality? Please feel the harmony of Natsuko Echizen's work, which depicts a mysterious world, at the venue.
