Rintaro Solo Exhibition “Yusou Life”

Rintaro Solo Exhibition “Yusou Life”

2022.11.26(Sat) – 2022.12.01(Thu)

From November 26th (Sat) to December 1st (Thursday), 2022, Rintaro's solo exhibition "Yusou Seimei" will be held at YUGEN Gallery.

Rintaro, a sculptor, has been playing with monsters that appear in special effects works since childhood and fictional creature toys such as animal-type mechanical "Zoids", and wondered if he could create his own fictional life form. I came.

Rintaro creates glue gun art works using glue gun (thermoplastic resin). For him, who wanted to give form to his imagination, the glue gun was the perfect material because it could adhere to any uneven surface and harden immediately.

By creating the various parts that make up the life form and combining them as improvised as possible, he creates imaginary life forms that reflect his own images and aspirations.

While pursuing the silhouettes of fictitious life forms and expressing their vitality, Rintaro became aware of the mysterious power that nature itself possessed, and came to feel a strong sense of awe towards it. As a result, his recent works reflect a warning against a consumer society that goes against nature.

In addition to works that express such fictitious lifeforms, this exhibition "Yuso Seimei" will also display one of Rintaro's representative works, the "Golden Tea Room" series. This series contrasts the value of the shape of the object with the emptiness of the contents, by decorating a mesh-like glue gun with a hollow interior with a high-class decoration using lacquer and pure gold.

In addition, a number of semi-stereoscopic two-dimensional works derived from the process of creating three-dimensional works will be exhibited for the first time at this exhibition. Rintaro, who focused on the shapes of organs that form the basis of life, such as the brain and heart, contrasted the mysterious silhouettes of these organs, which are usually unseen, with the empty inner lives of people who disregard the importance of these organs. A group of works. Please enjoy the world of Rintaro's glue gun art. This exhibition will be held as the 11th exhibition curated by YUGEN Gallery for the bilingual art information magazine "ONBEAT", which reexamines Japanese art culture and disseminates its charm to the world.
