YUGEN Gallery Opening Exhibition “Add”

April 6th (Sat) - April 21st (Sun), 2024

YUGEN Gallery will be holding a group exhibition called "Add" from Saturday, April 6th to Sunday, April 21st, 2024, to mark the opening of its Minami Aoyama Gallery.

The exhibition was planned and curated by Noma Hirotaka, and brings together five artists who are garnering attention not only in Japan but also overseas.

The exhibition will be themed on "Add," which means to add or supple, and will feature approximately 30 pieces, most of which are new works created by each artist for this exhibition.

The five artists participating in this exhibition are "Wataru Kimura," "SOMETA," "POKO," "KRM," and "DELUXESTO." These five diverse artists, with a variety of backgrounds including street culture, music, and fashion, will come together to create works that feature people and living things, though with different motifs.

This exhibition will be made up of works by each artist that are not just two-dimensionally imagined, but that have been created by “adding” new methods of expression to create works of a different dimension. These will inevitably color the new YUGEN Gallery, as if they were painting on a blank canvas.

Please come and see the new works that have been added to the new gallery.

Statement

YUGEN Gallery will be holding the group exhibition “Add”, which will be the opening of Minami Aoyama Gallery, from Saturday, April 6th to Sunday, April 21st, 2024.

This exhibition, planned and curated by Hirotaka Noma, brings together five artists who are attracting attention not only from Japan but also from overseas.

Based on the theme of "Add," which means "to add" or "addition," approximately 30 works, mainly new works created by each artist for this exhibition, will be on display and for sale.

The five artists participating in this exhibition are "Wataru Kimura," "SOMETA," "POKO," "KRM," and "DELUXESTO." Five diverse people from various backgrounds such as street culture, music, and fashion come together to create works with different motifs, such as people and living things.

This exhibition will consist of not only two-dimensionally imagined works by each artist, but also a group of other-dimensional works created by “adding” new ways of expression. As if painting on a blank canvas, it will inevitably color the new YUGEN Gallery.

Please take a look at the newly “added” works to the new gallery that is about to open.
