Handa

This work was exhibited at the group exhibition "Literature in Dots." Focusing on the friction that arises between technological development and the society that accepts it, Handa Haya turns his attention to the hardware and technology that supports the playing environment of video games. In particular, in the past few years, Handa has been interested in GPUs (Graphics Processing Units), computer parts specialized for image processing. GPUs, which were originally good at parallel processing to perform image processing at high speed, are also used for AI learning and cryptocurrency mining due to their characteristics, which has resulted in a rise in prices. By focusing on the environment surrounding this hardware, Handa reminds us that video games do not exist only in virtual space.
