A Summer Poem

This work is part of "Creatures," a group exhibition featuring five artists who express animals, plants, fungi, and imaginary creatures using their own materials and methods. This exhibition explores the unseen presence and energy of life, and the relationship between nature and humans, through the diverse forms of "creatures."
Yukiko Kurano depicts the movement of plant life, seemingly still yet constantly extending roots and branches. In her work for this exhibition, she uses oil paints like watercolors, capturing the dynamism of growing plants with fluid brushstrokes.
