The exhibition "Ikemonotachi" is a group exhibition featuring works by five artists who express flora, fauna, fungi, and mythical creatures using their respective materials and techniques. This exhibition focuses on the invisible signs and energy of life, and the relationship between nature and humans, through the diverse forms of "creatures."
Yukiko Kurano depicts the movement of plant life, which, while appearing still, constantly puts down roots and extends branches and leaves. In her works for this exhibition, she treats oil paints like watercolors, capturing the dynamism of growing plants with fluid brushstrokes.
