These are works from the group exhibition "Creatures," where five artists express animals, plants, fungi, and fantastical beings using their unique materials and methods. This exhibition encourages us to consider the invisible presence and energy of life, as well as the relationship between nature and humans, through the diverse forms of "creatures."
Yukiko Kurano depicts the vital movements of plants, which, though appearing still, constantly send out roots and extend branches and leaves. For this exhibition, she uses oil paints like watercolors, capturing the dynamic energy of growing plants with fluid brushstrokes.
