Shinichi Wakasa
Born in Hiroshima Prefecture in 1982.
In 2008, he graduated from Hiroshima City University, Faculty of Arts, Department of Fine Arts, majoring in Japanese painting. In 2010, he completed the master's course at the same university's graduate school, and in 2013, he completed the doctoral course. His graduation project was purchased by the university as the top student. In the same year, he won the runner-up prize in the "Debut" New Artist Award of Monthly Art. Since then, he has exhibited his works both in Japan and abroad, and has collaborated with many companies, including traditional craftsmanship "Chososho", New York fashion brand "sawa takai", and "MEMUSE" by Risa Aizawa of Dempagumi.inc. He has also created large murals at Yokohama Station Aso Building (2019) and Hiroshima Orizuru Tower (2022). His works are held in the collections of Tochigi Prefectural Museum of Art, Engakuji Ryukakuan in Kanagawa Prefecture, Hiroshima City University Art Museum, and others.
