ruteN, an artist represented by YUGEN Gallery who has attracted attention for his unique style that combines contemporary art and flower arrangement, will be exhibiting at "Kiyo Bank presents UNKNOWN ASIA 2024," to be held at Umeda South Hall in Osaka from Friday, December 6th to Sunday, December 8th, 2024.
"UNKNOWN ASIA" is attracting attention as a place where up-and-coming artists and creators from Japan and other Asian countries can present their works and directly interact with audiences, buyers, and curators. It is especially highly regarded by art professionals and fans as an opportunity to discover the talent that will lead the next generation of art scenes. In 2024, it will be held at Umeda South Hall in Osaka, and is expected to attract many visitors from Japan and abroad.
Born in Miyazaki Prefecture, ruteN studied under the fourth-generation head of the Ichiyo style of Ikebana, Naohiro Kasuya, in 2018 and obtained his professor's certificate in 2023 (pen name: Kashiwaba). Based on flower arrangement, he creates oil paintings that express the energy of plants and nature with his own unique sensibility. In his works, he seeks to find a form of beauty in a world of impermanence in harmony with nature.
In October 2024, he will hold a solo exhibition "Impermanence" at YUGEN Gallery. He will present an installation that combines about 20 new oil paintings and flower arrangement, which has received a great response. Since then, he has expanded his activities to various places, expressing the beauty of the energy of plants and nature in various ways.
Exhibiting at "UNKNOWN ASIA" will surely bring ruteN even more attention both at home and abroad. ruteN's core expression is weaving the stories of life in nature through oil painting and flower arrangement. Her works will move many audiences on the stage of "UNKNOWN ASIA."
This exhibition will feature nine oil paintings that combine the traditional Japanese culture of flower arranging with contemporary art.
