Exhibiting at "ART FAIR TOKYO 2025" (Updated 3/4)

The contemporary art gallery "YUGEN Gallery" (Omotesando, Tokyo/operated by Gene Co., Ltd.) will be exhibiting at "ART FAIR TOKYO 2025" (AFT2025), which will be held at the Tokyo International Forum from Friday, March 7th to Sunday, March 9th, 2025.

"ART FAIR TOKYO" is one of the largest art fairs in Japan and the oldest in Asia, and has been held since 2005 as a place where excellent art galleries from Japan and around the world gather. As a leader in the Japanese art market, it continues to attract the attention of dealers and collectors from all over the world by showcasing a wide range of artworks, from antiques and crafts to Japanese paintings, modern art, and contemporary art.

At this art fair, YUGEN Gallery hopes to gather contemporary artists who have exhibited and worked both domestically and internationally, as well as artists who advocate artistic expression originating from Japan, and introduce them to the world.

The participating artists are Nishimoto Yuki , Nagao Hiroshi , and Masuda Masahiro .

Nishimoto Yuki is a sumi-e artist who continues to attract attention from around the world. Not limited to traditional techniques, since 2017 he has been creating new works called "Toubokuga" (ceramic ink paintings) that combine sumi-e and ceramic techniques. With a unique touch that combines boldness and delicacy, he expresses a new world of sumi-e. And in this exhibition, Nishimoto Yuki's original artwork will be on sale in Japan for the first time.

Hiroshi Nagao is a collage artist whose work focuses on the theme "We are the indigenous people of the future." Drawing traditional motifs and imaginary figures from around the world, he reflects on the relationship between traditional culture and materialism, and calls for learning from the past and returning to human instincts.

Masahiro Masuda photographs real landscapes, projects the images in the same place, and photographs them again, repeating this process several times, before silk-screening the images onto canvas. He depicts the overlapping of numerous moments through images that contain layers of paint and blurred textures.

YUGEN Gallery will be exhibiting at the Lobby Gallery "L012" on the B1F.

Exhibited works will be available for purchase at the venue and online from the VIP preview on Thursday, March 6th.

Please note that Nishimoto Yuki's original artwork will be sold by lottery.

Please look forward to it.
