Ascension
Saori Kanda is an artist whose work focuses on the theme of "liberation of the joy of the soul." She portrays women as symbols of the goddess that stays dormant within the viewer, and as "bearers of mysteries."
It is fantastically integrated with a wide variety of plants, and represents a sanctuary - a place where one can reunite with the "life" hidden deep within the soul.
More than simply visual images, her paintings blend body, soul, nature, and the universe together, and while they are in the same lineage as mystical female painters, they also celebrate life itself.
Works exhibited at the solo exhibition "Seimeisanka -sanctuary-".
