Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. I attempt to depict images at a stage prior to the pursuit of a perfected outcome, characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally significant.
My work originates from images that arise at moments when I perceive the reality before me to be inseparable from thought and language. I also treat the consciousness that attempts to express these images in the same way as external reality. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, and these are directly fixed onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. The time and process of perception until an object emerges as a form have become important elements in my current practice.
