Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. I attempt to depict images at a stage prior to aiming for a finished result, characterized by an approach that views visible and invisible elements as equally significant.
Starting from images that emerge at moments when reality feels inseparable from thought and language, I treat the consciousness that tries to express these images as equally real as the external world. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, and these are directly fixed onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two and three dimensions. The time and cognitive process involved in an object taking form have become important elements in my current practice.
