untitled
Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. My work attempts to depict images in a stage prior to a fully realized outcome, characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally significant.
I start with images that arise in moments when I feel the reality before me is inseparable from thought and language. I then treat the consciousness attempting to express these images as equally real as the external world. Through this process, I aim to create paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, directly transferring onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two and three dimensions. The time it takes for an object to materialize into a form, and the process of perception, have become important elements in my current practice.
