Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting to date. My practice attempts to depict images in a pre-finished state, characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally valid.
Starting from images that emerge at moments when reality feels inseparable from thought and language, I treat the consciousness that attempts to express these images with the same weight as external reality. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, which are then directly fixed onto the canvas. In recent years, I have also begun working with ceramics alongside painting, moving between two and three dimensions. The time it takes for an object to materialize as a form, and the process of perception, have become important elements in my current practice.
