Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting to date. My practice attempts to depict images in a pre-conceptual state, before they coalesce into a completed result, and is characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally significant.
Starting from images that emerge at moments when I perceive the reality before me as inseparable from thought and language, I treat the very consciousness that attempts to express these images in the same way I treat external reality. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, directly imprinting onto the canvas. In recent years, I have also begun working with ceramics alongside painting. Moving between two and three dimensions, the passage of time and the process of perception leading to an object's manifestation as a form have become crucial elements in my current practice.
