Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. My work attempts to depict images in a stage prior to a fully realized outcome, characterized by an approach that treats visible and invisible elements as equally significant.
My starting point is an image that arises at moments when the reality before me feels inseparable from thought and language. I treat the very consciousness that attempts to express this image as being on par with external reality. Through this process, I try to create paintings where the image integrates with bodily movements and intentions, directly transferring them onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two and three dimensions. The time it takes for an object to materialize as a form, and the process of its recognition, have become crucial elements in my current practice.
