Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. My work attempts to depict images in a stage prior to aiming for a completed result, characterized by an approach that views both visible and invisible elements as equally significant.
Starting from images that emerge at moments when the reality before us feels inseparable from thought and language, I treat the consciousness that tries to express these images in the same way as external reality. Through this process, I try to create paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, and these are directly fixed onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two and three dimensions. The time it takes for an object to emerge as a form and the process of perception have become important elements in my current practice.
