Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. I attempt to depict images at a stage prior to aiming for a completed result, characterized by a stance that views visible and invisible elements as equally significant.
Starting from images that emerge when I perceive the reality before me as inseparable from thought and language, I treat the consciousness that attempts to express these images in the same way I treat external reality. Through this process, I try to create paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, directly fixing them onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics. Moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, the time it takes for an object to materialize as a shape and the process of its recognition have become crucial elements in my current practice.
