Exhibition Information (Last updated: July 30, 2024)
YUGEN Gallery (4F KD Minamiaoyama Building, 3-1-31 Minamiaoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will be holding a solo exhibition by artist ruteN from Saturday, October 26, 2024.
ruteN began his career as a painter in 2020 and quickly distinguished himself in art competitions. In 2023, he obtained a teaching certificate in Ichiyo-shiki Ikebana, a form of flower arrangement, and incorporated the sensibility of flower arrangement to visualize the circulation and energy of life in nature. He creates works based on the theme of "a world in flux."
The artist's name is taken from the Japanese word "Ryuten". The image of "Seiseiryuten = everything is constantly born, changing, and transitioning" is expressed on the canvas with a sense of volume of paint. His style is characterized by the delicate yet dynamic depiction of plants, seasons, and the expressions of nature. He has also produced murals over 10 meters in size, and in recent years he has increased the variety of his painting techniques, creating new worldviews.
"We humans are one of the living organisms that exist on this vast universe and on Earth, and we are part of nature. I continue to paint with the hope of gently conveying to those who view my work the idea that we are unique and beautiful beings in this world, and an opportunity to cherish every moment."
ruteN connects deeply with the souls of plants and nature, and leaves behind messages that can only be received at that moment, like a diary. The exhibition, which consists of flower arrangements and paintings, is attracting attention as an installation of both. Please come and experience the graceful and majestic energy that emanates from the works and the venue.
