mirror of the soul(Neutral grey)03

Takahiro Yumisashi

This work is featured in the group exhibition "Daily Fables," which uses characters as a medium to explore the boundary between reality and fiction, and the location of the self.
Takahiro Yumisashi reconstructs oni, a creature that has been a symbol of fear since ancient times, as a pop character. In his series "Toon Demon" and "Mirror of the Soul," he quietly reflects the state of the self in our information society and the anxieties that lurk within people. The dreamlike atmosphere created by the low-brightness colors and simple composition exudes a sense of awe for the formless and a Japanese sensibility.
