Based in Kyoto, my work has primarily focused on painting. I strive to depict images that exist in a stage prior to a fully realized outcome, characterized by an approach that views the visible and invisible as equally significant.
My creative process begins with images that arise at moments when the reality before me feels inseparable from thought and language. I treat the very consciousness attempting to express these images with the same consideration as external reality. Through this process, I try to create paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, directly manifesting on the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two and three dimensions. The time and cognitive process involved in an object taking form have become crucial elements in my current practice.
