Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. I attempt to depict images that exist at a stage prior to the pursuit of a perfected outcome, characterized by a stance that views the visible and invisible as equally significant.
My work originates from images that arise in moments when I feel the reality before me is inseparable from thought and language. The very consciousness that tries to express these images is treated in the same way as external reality. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, directly transferring them onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. The time and cognitive process involved in an object's emergence as a form have become crucial elements in my current practice.
