Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting to date. My practice attempts to depict images in a pre-finished state, characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally significant.
My work originates from images that arise at moments when I perceive the reality before me as inseparable from thought and language. I treat the very consciousness that attempts to express these images in the same way as external reality. Through this process, I try to create paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, directly fixing them onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics, moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms. The time and recognition processes involved in an object taking shape as a form have become important elements in my current practice.
