Based in Kyoto, my work has primarily focused on painting. I strive to depict images that exist prior to the pursuit of a perfected outcome, characterized by an approach that views both visible and invisible elements as equally significant.
My starting point is an image that emerges at the moment when I perceive reality as inseparable from thought and language. I treat the very consciousness that attempts to express this image in the same way I treat external reality. Through this process, I aim to create paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, directly settling onto the canvas. In recent years, I have also begun working with ceramics alongside painting. Moving between two and three dimensions, the time and perceptual processes involved in an object's emergence as a form have become crucial elements in my current practice.
