Based in Kyoto, my work has primarily focused on painting. I strive to depict images that exist prior to the pursuit of a finalized result, characterized by an approach that treats visible and invisible elements as equally significant.
My work begins with images that emerge at moments when I perceive the reality before me as inseparable from thought and language. The very consciousness attempting to express these images is treated in the same way as external reality. Through this process, I aim to generate paintings where images become integrated with bodily movements and intentions, directly transferring onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics. Moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, the time it takes for a subject to materialize as a form and the process of its perception have become crucial elements in my current practice.
