Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting to date. I attempt to depict images that exist at a stage prior to the pursuit of a perfected outcome, characterized by an approach that treats both visible and invisible elements as equivalent.
Starting from images that emerge at moments when reality feels inseparable from thought and language, I treat the consciousness that attempts to express these images as equally real as the external world. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, directly manifesting onto the canvas. In recent years, in parallel with painting, I have also begun working with ceramics. Moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms, the time and process of perception until an object emerges as a form have become important elements in my current practice.
