Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. My work attempts to depict images in a stage prior to a fully realized outcome, characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally significant.
My starting point is an image that arises in moments where I perceive the reality before me as inseparable from thought and language. I treat the very consciousness that attempts to express this image as being on par with external reality. Through this process, I try to create paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, and these are directly fixed onto the canvas. In recent years, alongside painting, I have also begun working with ceramics. Moving between two and three dimensions, the time it takes for an object to materialize into a form, and the process of perception, have become crucial elements in my current practice.
