Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. My work attempts to depict images in the stage before they become fully formed, characterized by an approach that treats the visible and invisible as equally important.
Starting from images that emerge at moments when reality feels inseparable from thought and language, I also treat the consciousness that attempts to express these images as equally real as the external world. Through this process, I try to create paintings where images integrate with bodily movements and intentions, directly transferring them onto the canvas. In recent years, I have also started working with ceramics alongside painting, moving between two and three dimensions. The time and cognitive processes involved in an object taking form have become crucial elements in my current practice.
