Based in Kyoto, I have primarily focused on painting. I attempt to depict images that are in a stage prior to aiming for a finished result, characterized by an approach that treats visible and invisible elements as equally important.
Starting with images that arise at moments when the reality before my eyes feels inseparable from thought and language, I treat the consciousness that attempts to express these images in the same way as external reality. Through this process, I try to generate paintings where images merge with bodily movements and intentions, directly fixing them onto the canvas. In recent years, in parallel with painting, I have also begun working with ceramics. Moving between two and three dimensions, the time and perceptual processes involved in how an object emerges as a form have become crucial elements in my current practice.
