"Accumulation of Light"-1

"Accumulation of Light" is a series inspired by the candle flame depicted in Georges de La Tour's "Mary Magdalene." Memories of small lights accumulated within the artist and were reconstructed in the present day as abstract paintings.
Multiple images of light are layered on the monochromatic canvas. The red symbolizes a flame illuminating the darkness, and the white space symbolizes morning light, with the repetition of different lights forming the theme of "accumulation of light." For the artist, light is a symbol of hope. (This work was created in 2020, with additional work added in 2025.)
