Statement

福岡出身のアーティスト・witness。マスキングテープを用いて一度描いたモチーフを分解・再構築し、新たな視点やバランスを模索する手法が特徴的なアーティストです。草花をモチーフにしたものや「ズレ」た風景、日常生活から着想を得た作品のほか、自身の作品をプリントしたファブリックといった横断的なメディアで作品を発表しています。

2020年にはサッポロビールのリブランディングビジュアルを担当。その後もMONTBLANCやスターフライヤーといった国内外のブランドとのコラボレーション、ジャケットアートワーク、テキスタイルデザイン、グラフィックデザインを手掛けるなど、ジャンルを横断した活動で注目を集めてきました。

本展では、現代アートシーンで注目を集めるアーティスト・witnessがこれまでに培ってきた技法と新たな視点を取り入れた最新作を公開いたします。

変わりゆく都市の中で、ふと足を止めたくなるような瞬間。その美しさと“ズレ”の面白さを体感できるwitnessの世界観を、ぜひ会場でご覧ください。

witness Born in Fukuoka Prefecture. He creates works that use floral motifs and misalignment to explore new balances. In 2020, he created the rebranding visuals for Sapporo Beer and appeared in the company's commercial for the Hakone Ekiden. He has also produced visuals for companies such as STARBUCKS, MONTBLANC, PARCO, and STARFLYER, collaborated with apparel brands such as BALANSA, and has also done a lot of graphic design and music-related artwork.
